ESOPHAGUS: EOSINOPHILIC ESOPHAGITIS

EOSINOPHILIC ESOPHAGITIS Squamous epithelium shows hyperplasia (acantosis), and remarkable intercelular edema



EOSINOPHILIC ESOPHAGITIS: The circle remark eosinophils, they must be more than 20 eosinophils per high power field





HISTOLOGICAL FINDINGS OF EOSINOPHILIC ESOPHAGITIS
1.-Increase of intraepithelial eosinophils greater than 20/hpf or  > 15 per hpf in 2 fields.
2.-Acantosis, basal cell hyperplaia and papilomatosis.
